Level Design

Mechanic Design

Project focused on implementing a mechanic for a tile based game. Here I was able to implement two different mechanics, patrolling enemies and key activated locations.

Ancient Temple

Project focusing on the full pipeline of blocking out a level, testing the pathing and gameplay, and then replacing blockmesh with finished assets. Gained valuable experience in Level Design and Environment Art.

Stack-O-Bot Project

Project practicing adding additional game mechanic to an already existing project. I chose to add the ability to slow time using core power from the bot itself. This included charging stations and upgrades that both increase your maximum core power and increase the rate at which you gain power back over time.

Stack-O-Bot Level Design

Designed a game with multiple levels that include a variety of traps and other game implements. Includes a fully functional health bar.

Environment Design Project

Designed an environment of an abandoned fortress. Was given boundaries of what needed to be included and then was given free artistic choice on the assets and lighting.

About.Me

My name is Garrett Howard, I am a Marine Corps Veteran and a Video Game Designer. I find that Video Game Design is a career that I am passionate about and I continue to learn new information every day both in and out of game design. Ever since I have started this journey I feel that I don't have enough time to try out all the ideas I have. But I'll keep trying to create.
